Itinerary

Day 1- Arrive at Chateau de Gere

You’ll arrive at Lourdes airport where you’ll be met by a member of the Alkari team before setting off for the Chateau in the heart of the Pyrenees. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a glass of local wine, chilled beer, tea or coffee. We’ll give you a brief overview of the weekend before taking you to your rooms. Shortly after that, it’s just a five minute trip into the local town for dinner.

Meals included: Dinner (Local restaurant)

Accommodation: Chateau de Gere or Soumabayle

Day 2-Tour of the Lacs d'Ayous

Breakfast will be served nice and early to give you plenty of time to get ready for the day’s hike. Once you’re good to go, we’ll head off into the mountains for a tour of the gorgeous Lacs d’Ayous. A series of lakes and waterfalls that continues as we head further up into wilds of the Pyrenees. That night, we’ll wild camp beneath the stars at the stunning and secluded Lac de Peyreget. Make sure you keep an eye out for the Marmots!

Meals included: Large cooked breakfast (served at Chateau), Lunch and Dinner (carried and prepared at camp site)

Accommodation: Wild camping OR Refuge de Pombie

Day 3-Refuge de Pombie and Pic de Midi d'Ossau

You’ll wake up beside the lake feeling fresh and ready to go. After a relaxed breakfast, we’ll pack up camp and head around the imposing feature of Pic de Midi d’Ossau to the Lac de Pombie. From there, we’ll rest up before heading to the summit for some truly outstanding views.

After plenty of photos at the summit, we’ll head back down to get picked up by the transport and taken back to the Chateau for a hearty evening barbecue.

Meals included: Breakfast and lunch (carried in packs and prepared on the mountain), Dinner (Barbecue at the Chateau)

Accommodation: Chateau de Gere or Soumabayle

Day 4-Departure

After a relaxing night’s sleep, breakfast will be served at the Chateau. After packing your bags, you’ll have a chance to visit the local cheese farm and stop off in town for coffee and crepes before we head back to Lourdes airport.

Meals included: Cooked breakfast (served at chateau), packed lunch for the road
